This is the white creme filling in donuts. I love it with a chocolate icing. I don't know where the name comes from, but the recipes online, which all seem to be copies of each other, all call it that.
Ingredients
- 225 g (1 cup) sugar
- 100 g (1/2 cup) milk
- 200 g (1 cup) vegetable oil
- 350 g (2 cups) vegetable shortening
- 5 g (1/2 tsp) liquid lecithin
- 1 tsp clear vanilla extract
- 750 g (6 cups) confectioner's sugar
Steps
- Put the sugar and milk in a saucepan. Put on medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Combine vegetable oil, shortening, and lecithin, and beat with an electric mixer on high speed to blend.
- Stir in the sugar mixture and clear vanilla extract.
- Add the confectioner's sugar 1 cup at a time and beat in. Continue to beat until the filling is thick and fluffy, 10 minutes. If it's too thick, beat in a tablespoon of water at a time until it's the correct consistency.
